HOLISTIC PELVIC CARE

Holistic Pelvic Care™ is a combination of physical and energetic tools developed by Tami Kent in America, who is a Women’s Health Physiotherapist and writer. It was created to assess and the restore balance to the pelvic bowl of the female body. It can help women of all ages with specific physical problems or with general well-being.

It’s a beautiful therapy which brings connection and attention to your ovaries and your womb and can assist in physical, spiritual and emotional release. It can give a new internal awareness and sense of well-being in your core. Women can feel greater strength in their pelvic muscles, whilst also feeling more relaxed and centred. From a physical point of view the massage increases blood flow and energy flow to the area enhancing pelvic health.

Holistic Pelvic Care™ can help urinary leakage, uterine prolapse, pelvic heaviness or instability, pelvic muscle weakness, pelvic pain and pain with intercourse, but you don’t need to have any symptoms at all to benefit from a treatment. I've also been supporting women suffering from endometriosis with a combination of Holistic Pelvic Care™ and Gentle Release Therapy™.  Traditionally the treatment involves an internal approach, however I have been working 'energetically' and getting excellent results if that is something you would prefer.

If you’ve never had this therapy you may decide to do a short course of a few sessions to kick things off. You then may decide to come back annually, when you have major changes in your life, or when you need some extra support. It’s entirely up to you, there is no pressure. Please come for one session and see what you think, I passionately believe that this is something that should be available to every woman.

WHAT TO EXPECT

After an initial consultation, you will given privacy to remove clothing from your lower half and get comfy on the couch under a blanket. An organic lubricant and latex free gloves are used to help insert one finger gently into the vagina, so that the pelvic floor muscles can be assessed. Gentle palpation is used whilst you tense your pelvic floor, this shows us where there may be too much or too little tension before we attempt to rebalance with a gentle intervaginal massage which includes myofascial release, trigger point work, breathwork and visualisation exercises to assist core and energetic physical balance.

The therapy is very gentle and shouldn’t hurt, despite this the effects can be profound and most women will notice a change after their first treatment.  If you would prefer not to have an internal treatment we can explore things on an an energetic level, just let me know, its entirely up to you.
